Soft Hearts

|
"We often avoid,as long as we can,any serious grappling with the life of the heart. We waltz past our losses, bury our feelings and try to pretend. Two barriers loom large. We fear our hearts as dangerous havens of something that could undo us. Or we perceive the domain of the heart as one of weakness, the source of an emotional softness that would allow us to be taken advantage of by others. Actually, it is neither." -Paula Rinehart

Oh the matters of the heart, mine overwhelm me at times(quite frequently). I am learning (slowly) that my heart is good though I fear it being deceptive, it is not, Christ now dwells there. It complexity and vastness is daunting. The "issues" that arise seem to be neverending, yet there is hope. The life of Jesus penetrating all of my heart, of me. Transforming me, teaching me to trust, in my heart, because He is there.

Nice quote. Check out a wonderful little book by Henry Nouwen called "Life of the Beloved." It touches along the same lines as your blog.
